The Standard Collaborates with Bluboho to Support Black Women Entrepreneurs
The Standard and Bluboho have teamed up to offer four (4) $1,500 Grants through a contest to amazing Black women small business owners who are raising the standard and acting as trailblazers in their community.

What is the Eligibility Criteria:
Any legal resident of Canada who is over the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside can nominate a nominee.
To be considered, the nominee:
must be:
active in a business registered as a sole proprietorship or corporation in any jurisdiction in Canada for a minimum of one full year (as of August 16, 2021);
that has a product or service in market and generating revenue;
and that has a digital presence and supporting media;
must be the founder of the business and/or has had a significant impact on the business; and
must identify as a Black women;
Who can nominate?
You can nominate a small business if you are a legal resident of Canada who has reached the age of majority in your province or territory of residence at the time of entry. This could include but is not limited to:
A small business owner or founder self-nominating, OR
A community member of a small business which includes:
o Customer
o Employee
o Family/Friend
o General Supporter/Community Member
o Partner/Vendor
How many nominations can be submitted?
We encourage communities to rally behind their favourite small business owner and support them through nominations in the Contest. A small business may be nominated as many times as possible, however, each nomination must be submitted by a separate individual.
What Prizes are available?
The four (4) winners of the BluBoho Raising the Standard Grant Contest will receive:
$1,500 Grant
A bluboho item valued at $150
1:1 time with the Founder of bluboho
1:1 time with select members of the Standard
The total prize value is $1,650 CAD
Deadline for nominations?
All nominations (i.e. entries in the Contest) must be submitted through the Grant Application and shared via Instagram story by 11:59 p.m. ET on September 10th, 2021.
How are Grant Recipients and Nomination prize winners selected?
To determine the four (4) Grant Prize recipients a panel of judges comprised of The Standard founders and Bluboho management will evaluate based on the following criteria:
Quality of Content: 35%
Impact, Business Model and Values: 60%
Community Support: 5%
Recipients will be announced by September 24th and contacted prior to. By accepting the Bluboho Raising the Standard Grant, the recipient agrees to comply with the Contest Rules.
My business was nominated, do I need to do anything?
Congratulations on your nomination! At this point in the nomination process, nothing else is required from nominated businesses. If however, you would like to self-nominate and provide more information about your business, you are welcome to submit a nomination for the grant contest as well.

The Contest may be advertised on or accessed through one or more social media platforms, such as Instagram or LinkedIn. However, the Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, any such platforms. Entrants agree to comply with all terms and policies governing such platforms in connection with the Contest.
